Alyt At Least You Tried
Alyt · At Least You Tried

Trying and breaking things, and journalling my experiences.

This is where I keep an honest record of the things I'm trying to figure out.

Right now that's a few at once: getting sharper at investing, learning to build (this site and a small idea-generation tool are both works in progress), keeping pace with AI and guessing at whatever comes after it — and reading enough to stay curious through all of it.

None of it is mastered. Nowhere close, or where I think I'd like to be — but all we can do in life is try, I guess.

Most of the internet is a highlight reel: the wins, the gains, the finished product. I find mistakes more useful, so those are what I write down — the trade that didn't work, the investments that lost money, the AI tokens I burnt with nothing to show for it, the websites that are still non-websites, the idea that sounded clever until it wasn't.

The name is the whole philosophy. Alyt — At Least You Tried. Not a consolation prize; a standard. Better to attempt something and learn than to wait on the sidelines for a certainty that never comes.

Hopefully my experiences here help a little in whatever journey you're on at the moment.

Why Interactive Brokers?

Why I chose Interactive Brokers (IBKR) over CMC and eToro — the phone app, low fees, auto-FX, and wiring an AI to stage my orders. An honest, non-expert take.

Why I'm building Alyt in the open

Alyt is a journal of the journey — the good, the bad, the ugly and the fugly. The working and the misses, not just the trophy.
