Alyt At Least You Tried

Why bother?

Because the alternative is worse.

You might spend your life waiting to be certain — certain the investment will make a profit, certain the thing you build will actually work, certain you won't look stupid — and the certainty never arrives. So you wait. And wait. And nothing happens. A cliché, but it carries truth.

If you've ever had the feeling of waiting for something spectacular to arrive — or even the sense that something's about to happen and you can't name what — I still wake up with it most days. Somewhere along the way, though, comes the quieter realisation: nothing is going to happen, and no one is coming. Not unless you try, at least.

You might get it right. You'll often get it wrong. Either way you'll have learned something for the attempt. At least you tried.

That's the whole premise of this place — and no, this is not a motivational page. I'm not an expert at any of this, which is the point; I'm working it out in real time, same as you. But if you ever feel alone in the journey, know that this fool here is somewhere on the same road. Unless you're reading this in 2100, in which case I'm almost certainly long dead (almost — but feel free to drop a note just in case).

Nothing here is advice. Everything here is personal opinion.
